he is so precious - i just can't get enough of him. my sister and brother in law are going to get so sick of seeing me!

in a couple of months, we are going to have our first niece! s' sister is due in december and we are so excited for them!

so since s and i don't plan on extending our family for another couple of years, prepare yourselves...this blog will be filled with so many baby pictures as i am going to be one very proud aunt!

baby shower...

i was very excited to throw my sister and j their baby shower...until i found out that i had to host 40 of their closest friends!! ummm ... standing room only? we put tables and chairs outside and s grilled some great chicken and tri tip. we also made 4 salads - fruit, pasta, mixed greens and a summer spinach salad. everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves! we had 2 poker tables set up inside so after lunch they played cards while the gals played the usual shower games. i don't believe in tormenting guys to play baby shower games. =) i got some amazing cupcakes from this caterer in the peninsula - they came out so adorable and yummy! i'll have to get a closer picture so you guys can see how nicely decorated they were!

did i mention that s and i will be hosting a second shower this weekend? another 25 people will be over this sunday for the family shower...

goodbye jade ... hello tammy

after 17 years...
230,000 miles...
it was time to say goodbye to jade.
jade broke down on the 680 when s was heading home to antioch. that was her message to s that it was time to donate her and move on to a new car. s has always wanted a truck and he really deserved it since he's had jade for so long. it's a HUGE truck and i have no idea how i'm ever going to be able to parallel park this vehicle!

happy anniversary...

s and i had our 3rd anniversary last tuesday. unfortunately, i was sick and we just stayed in and had take out chinese food. how romantic huh? it's crazy to think that i've been with s for over 9 years now ... that's 1/3 of my life!

my sister is now in her 27th week of pregnancy and i don't think i've mentioned that they are having a BOY! so so exciting! i'm working on her baby shower plans and i'm so excited to have her friends and family together to share this wonderful event!

in exactly 3 weeks i'll be back in the big apple! i can't wait to get my fix of cupcakes and shopping!

on the home front, there's currently 1 project that i'm working on ... trying to finish the paint in our bedroom. i just need to touch-up the trim (but i've been saying that for the last 3 weeks). we are also going to re-landscape our back yard but we'll leave that to the professionals. i'll post some before and after pictures later. we discussed re-carpeting as well but i'd rather do the backyard first.

remodeled bathroom

after 2 months (6 weeks later than planned), the bathroom is completely done! it looks great and i'm so proud of s for taking on this huge project especially since he didn't know anything about remodeling a bathroom. thanks to all our friends and family that helped us!





this was the old pink bathroom. when s realized the bathroom wasn't insulated, he removed all the walls, put in some insulation and new drywall. when removing the toilet, it was actually leaking so he had to put in new floors as well. crown molding, baseboards and new door and window trims were quite a learning lesson for s.





we love love the new bathroom! we chose brushed stainless hardware and soft neutral italian tiles.

s turns 30!

i threw s a surprise 30th b-day party a couple of weekends ago. i thought he might have been a bit suspicious but he was completely surprised! it was nice to be with our close family and friends.

i spent a nice relaxing weekend in la with my big sis, j. i went down south to spend some quality time with her and to meet her little precious e. he is so adorable - just total chubs. =)
as a bonus, g came by and i met her little precious son, i. it was nice to unwind for the weekend, get away from the house since s is still working on the remodel and be in nice warm sunny weather!!

happy chinese new year...

happy chinese new year! i can't believe another year has past so quickly! =) what makes this new year so special is that i'm going to be an AUNT! my dear sister is pregnant!! she is due early august ... and she is such a cute little pregnant person! my parents are ecstatic because this will be their first granchild. of course this leads everyone to ask when it will be my turn but umm ... that won't be for several more years. there are still so many things that s and i want to do before we add another addition to our family.

the bathroom remodel...s took a couple of weeks off to take a break from work. he decided to remodel the bathroom on his own - with no experience. well, 3 weeks later, he's more than half way there! so much for his goal of 2 weeks. he's just like any contractor...never on time. however, i respect and love how devoted he is to this project and doing endless research to make sure he does everything correctly. hopefully, at the end of this week, i can post some pictures!

ebay buys stubhub

wow...talk about unexpected surprises.

after a leak in the wall street journal on wednesday morning, it was officially announced later that day that ebay was purchasing stubhub for $310 million!

it's hard to imagine that options that s has had for the last 2 years were completely worthless until this amazing amazing announcement. hmmm...so what should i ask s to buy me?

happy new year!

wow...i can't believe we are already in 2007. the time has just flown by so fast - especially the recent holidays.

there is so much to look forward to in the new year - here are a couple of things that i can't wait for:

1) the house. there is just so much to do and so little time. we are starting our first major project next month or rather my husband is. s will be remodeling the bathroom next month. we have ordered all the cabinets and hardware and the only remaining material is the shower tile. this will be an interesting project.

2) traveling. there are definitely some trips that i'd like to make this year. i'm going to la in march to visit j and e and their new little boy, e. my dear j and w have been in colorado for a year now and i want to definitely try to visit them out in denver. there is a wedding in hawaii that i'm definitely looking forward to in may. since some of my great colleagues from br japan are still in tokyo, s and i might try to squeeze in a trip to asia. of course, i have to make my annual trip to nyc to hang out with m, s and little a.

3) friends and families. i've had many wonderful friends have babies. i can't wait to see them grow up, spend time with them and spoil them. i also look forward to hearing the many wonderful announcements from my friends who will be expecting this year. =)

4) work. hmmm...this is an interesting one. i just want to have the feelings at gymboree that i had at gap. i'll leave it at that. =)
